If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place
Tax season doesn’t have to mean scrambling, second-guessing, or overpaying someone to clean up what should have been done right the first time.
April panic every year?
You spend hours pulling documents, chasing receipts, and wondering if you missed something. By the time you hand it to a CPA, you’re paying rush fees and praying nothing’s wrong.
Burned by a bad preparer?
Your last tax provider filed late, made errors, or couldn’t answer basic questions about your return. Now you’re paying someone new to redo what should have been right the first time.
Multi-state compliance headaches?
You have employees or customers in multiple states and aren’t sure if you’re filing everywhere you should be. The penalties for getting it wrong keep you up at night.
1099s are a mess?
You use dozens of contractors and nobody is tracking W-9s. Year-end becomes a scramble to figure out who needs a 1099-NEC and whether the amounts are right.
Paying too much for too little?
Your CPA charges $3,000 or more just to file what should be a straightforward corporate return. You’re not sure what you’re getting for that money.
Tax and books are disconnected?
Your bookkeeper and your tax preparer don’t talk to each other. At filing time, the CPA asks questions your books should already answer, and cleanup costs pile up.
Your bookkeeping feeds directly into tax prep. No cleanup, no last-minute scramble, no middlemen.
What every corporate tax filing includes
Every return is prepared by qualified tax professionals working alongside your bookkeeping data for accuracy from day one.
Free tax extension filed
We file your extension automatically so you never face a late-filing penalty. This buys time for accuracy without the April crunch.
Federal & state corporate returns
Federal corporate income tax filing plus one state corporate income tax return are included in your base price. Additional state or city returns available as add-ons.
Delaware franchise tax filing
If your company is incorporated in Delaware, we handle the franchise tax filing. No need to track it separately or hire a registered agent just for this.
Up to 10 1099-NEC filings
We file up to 10 1099-NEC forms as part of your return. For businesses with more contractors, additional filings are $15 per form.
Priced by revenue. Filed by professionals.
Every tier includes the same comprehensive filing. Your price is based on your company’s annual revenue.

How CoCountant tax filing works
A simple, structured process from engagement to filed return.
STEP 1
Scope & Gather
We review your entity structure, revenue, and filing requirements. You share access to your books (or we already have it if you’re a bookkeeping client). We confirm your pricing tier and any add-ons needed.
STEP 2
Prepare & Review
Our tax team prepares your federal and state returns using your reconciled financials. Every return is reviewed for accuracy before it reaches you. We flag anything that needs your input or decision.
STEP 3
Approve & File
You review and approve the completed return. We e-file with the IRS and relevant state agencies. You receive confirmation of filing and copies of all documents for your
records.
Your extension is filed automatically, giving you additional time to file accurately without penalties.
Switching from another preparer? We request your prior-year returns, review them for accuracy, and ensure continuity. If we find issues in prior filings, we’ll let you know and help you decide whether to amend.
What our clients say about tax season
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a CoCountant bookkeeping client to use tax services?
No. Tax services are available as a standalone offering. That said, if CoCountant already handles your bookkeeping, your books are already reconciled and controller-reviewed, which makes tax preparation faster and more accurate. Either way, you get the same flat-rate pricing and qualified tax professionals.
Who prepares my return?
Your return is prepared by qualified tax professionals who work alongside CoCountant’s accounting team. Every return is reviewed before filing. CoCountant is not a certified public accounting firm and does not provide audit or attest services, but our tax professionals are experienced in corporate and individual return preparation across industries.
What if I need to file in more than one state?
Your base price includes one state corporate income tax return. Additional state or city returns are available as add-ons at $200 to $400 depending on your revenue tier. We’ll confirm exactly which states require filing during the scoping step.
What if I have more than 10 contractors who need 1099s?
Your corporate tax filing includes up to 10 1099-NEC filings. Beyond that, each additional form is $15. If you’re a bookkeeping client, we track contractor payments through the year and collect W-9s so that year-end 1099 filing is already organized.
Do you handle foreign subsidiaries and FBAR?
Yes. Form 5471 (foreign subsidiaries) is available at $1,000 per entity. Form 5472 (foreign shareholders) is $300 per shareholder. FBAR (FinCEN 114) is $300 per account. These are add-ons to your corporate or personal return and are quoted during the scoping call.
Can I get help with tax planning, not just filing?
Yes. Tax consulting with CPA guidance is available at $150/hr. This covers guidance on tax planning strategy, entity structure options, and filing considerations. You retain all decision-making authority. Note that CoCountant does not provide legal, regulatory, or ongoing tax advisory services. For complex planning scenarios, we may recommend working with a tax attorney alongside our team.
What happens if I need changes after my return is filed?
Revisions requested after delivery of the return are $300 per change. We’ll review the requested change, prepare an amended return if needed, and re-file with the appropriate agencies. We recommend reviewing your return carefully during the approval step to minimize post-filing changes.
What if I get audited?
IRS audit support is available at $150/hr. Because we prepared the return and (in many cases) maintain your books, we have full context on every number filed. We help you respond to IRS inquiries, gather documentation, and navigate the audit process.
Is tax filing a subscription or a one-time engagement?
Tax filing services are project-based and priced per engagement. Unlike our bookkeeping subscriptions, there is no 12-month commitment for tax filing. You can engage annually or as needed. If you’re already a CoCountant bookkeeping client, talk to your Customer Success Manager about adding tax services.
Is this service available outside the US?
CoCountant currently serves US-based businesses and US-resident individual filers. International add-ons like FBAR and Form 5471 are available for US taxpayers with foreign accounts or entities. We do not currently prepare returns for businesses or individuals based outside the United States.
Does CoCountant guarantee a specific tax outcome or refund amount?
No. While our team uses industry-standard processes and reviews all returns for accuracy, tax law is complex and subject to interpretation. CoCountant does not guarantee specific tax outcomes, refund amounts, or liability reductions. Our role is to prepare and file your returns accurately based on the information you provide.
